For 26 years MUJER has worked diligently to address issues of domestic violence and sexual abuse among families within south Miami Dade. MUJER serves more than 800 new families every year through direct services and an additional 5,000 people thru its outreach and training programs. These include: therapy, care coordination, children's support groups, legal & immigration services, advocacy, accompaniment, 24/7 Sexual Assault Helpline, emergency financial assistance, & many other services geared towards the intervention and prevention of sexual abuse and domestic violence. At MUJER we listen, empower & empathize, Save Lives, Seek Justice and Support Healing. MUJER receives its financial support from public (local and state governments) and private sources (foundations), as well as from special projects undertaken by staff and Friends of MUJER. More than $1 million dollars are raised every year to help the citizens of south Miami-Dade find ways to live healthy and productive lives. All services are provided free of charge.
