Too many hardworking families in South Florida believe homeownership is out of reach. With rising housing costs and limited access to reliable guidance, families are stuck renting, overpaying, or worse—being priced out of their neighborhood.

Neighborhood Housing Services of South Florida (NHSSF) is a nonprofit community development organization dedicated to building stronger, more equitable communities by promoting affordable homeownership and financial stability for low-to-moderate income individuals and families. For over 45 years, we’ve empowered residents across Miami-Dade and Broward Counties through a comprehensive Homeownership Promotion Center that offers HUD-certified education workshops, personalized housing counseling, and financial coaching.

Our mission is to help South Floridians achieve long-term economic stability by providing the tools, resources, and support they need to make informed housing choices—whether renting, purchasing their first home, or maintaining ownership. At a time when affordable housing is out of reach for many, NHSSF stands as a trusted guide and advocate, ensuring that financial barriers don’t stand in the way of building generational wealth and secure, thriving communities

We are a charter member of the NeighborWorks® Network, a certified Homeownership Center, a HUD approved counseling agency, have adopted the National Industry Standards for Homeownership Education and Counseling. We provide services in English and Spanish.

Over the last three years, NHSSF has counseled more than 1,500 clients and helped produce over 200 new homeowners in our community.

Over the past two years, we have completed weatherization improvements on more than 230 homes across Miami-Dade and Broward Counties. These upgrades reduce the financial burden of high utility costs while also promoting healthier indoor environments—especially important for seniors, families with young children, and individuals with health conditions.
