Many families in our community live paycheck to paycheck, overwhelmed by debt, low credit scores, and no roadmap to improve their financial health—let alone buy a home.

NHSSF’s Homebuyer Education and Counseling program offers personalized financial coaching, credit education, and action plans that help families reduce debt, grow savings, and prepare for homeownership. Our counselors walk side-by-side with clients until they’re ready to thrive. 

A Family's Story...

If someone told me last year that we’d be homeowners today, I never would have believed it. My husband and I have three kids, and we’ve always wanted a place to call our own—but we didn’t think it was possible. Our credit wasn’t great, and we didn’t really understand how buying a home worked.

Then we found Neighborhood Housing Services of South Florida (NHSSF). We joined their 8-hour Homebuyer Education class, and it changed everything. We learned how to budget, fix our credit, and understand what we could really afford. After the class, we worked one-on-one with a counselor who helped us every step of the way. She made the process feel less scary and gave us the confidence to keep going.

Now, we’re in our first home. Our kids have their own rooms, and we finally feel stable. We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished—and so thankful for NHSSF for helping make our dream come true.
