Help SDCI support Food Lifeline

$375

raised by 8 people

Food Lifeline collectively upholds everyone's right to nourishing, culturally relevant foods by sourcing and distributing food to 299 partner agencies (food banks, meal programs, and shelters) to reach the more than 2.3 million people currently experiencing food insecurity in western Washington.

Serving 17 counties, Food Lifeline distributes the equivalent of 166,000 meals each day. Food Lifeline actively partners with communities to co-create programs that mobilize access to food.  These programs are often bundled with other services and agencies to build a community-led movement to end hunger. We drive long-term transformation by activating a network of allies and advocates to help shape policy and legislation that address the systemic root causes of hunger.

As high food costs continue, the number of people who need our help is rising. With your support, more people can access the nutritious, culturally relevant food they need to thrive. Join our movement by donating above, and visit our website to volunteer or join our advocacy: foodlifeline.org.

DIVERSITY AND EQUITY

Food Lifeline is a food justice organization.  We recognize that hunger and food insecurity are complex and inextricably linked to poverty and its root causes, which include systemic racism, and social injustice. It is not enough to provide food today. To solve hunger, we must collaboratively develop transformational partnerships with our community of stakeholders, donors, volunteers, affinity organizations, and most importantly people with lived experiences of hunger. We believe in the power and necessity of collectively and radically changing the systems, programs, and practices that cause and perpetuate and profit from food insecurity and hunger in our communities.
