Elementary Institute of Science (EIS) was selected by District 79 Assembly member Dr. Akilah Weber as the Nonprofit of the Year for 2023! 

The mission of EIS is to inspire a love of science and create opportunities for diverse children and youth. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).

EIS was founded in 1964. We are an educational equity and social justice organization with science as our engine. EIS is committed to providing rich learning opportunities that prepare children for bright futures. EIS collaborates with schools, parents, businesses, and community partners to engage students in authentic, hands-on science learning. Our out-of-school and school partnership programs broaden access to STEM education, foster critical thinking, and encourage students to pursue STEM careers.
