Dear Friends,
I was freezing and covered in mud when this picture was taken, and I was having a great time. I spent the day in Lambs Canyon with an energetic team of volunteers building beaver dam analogues. These replicas of the real thing help create the many benefits of beaver dams like capturing carbon and building wetland habitat for many other species. They also build what we hope are inviting homes for beavers to take over.
Stream restoration is one of the many important projects we have going on. It' all part of a larger strategy to connect habitat and protect species in conservation need throughout the West.
As you probably know, I started working with Wild Utah Project this year, and I can't begin to express how happy I am. This is a wonderful organization that works on the ground to deliver the science we need to make informed conservation decisions.
You can help support us with a donation this week for the Live PC, Give PC event organized by the Park City Community Foundation. Our goal is to raise $1,000 by the end of November 6. Donations up to that total will be matched by the Domain Cos.
Please consider a donation of $25, $50, $100, or whatever you can give. It all adds up and helps us protect the beautiful world around us.
