Lisa Hewitt Dick's Ergathon

Dear Friends and Family,

As many of you know, my husband  Mike and I have been involved with the Cohasset Maritime Institute ( Rowcmi.org) since its infancy  and watched it grow into the wonderful community asset  it is today.  CMI , like many institutions, is experiencing a significant drop in much needed revenue because of our inability to hold our on the water summer programs. Luckily, with Zoom we have been able to offer indoor rowing training to youth and adults to keep our doors virtually open. The fees from these programs have helped but we need to raise over $20,000 to cover our continuing overhead. 

Over the years, my family  has figuratively given lots of sweat equity by serving on the board and hosting events etc. This month, I am truly going to be giving "sweat equity" by taking part in an ergathon. This is my first ergathon and those who know me well know I haven't done anything like this before-- if you don't count the Bonnie Bell 10 K in 1981!!The CMI Ergathon is a rowing event to raise funds for our beloved organization. Members and friends will compete on indoor rowers from our homes and everyone can view us in real-time via Zoom on Saturday, May 30, 2020.   My personal goal is 10,000 meters.  It's great that our spring online rowing program has  enabled me to get in shape (ish) and train with others via Zoom (despite having to stay at home.)  I look forward to sharing that experience with you!
