TIGERRS: Transgender, Intersex, Gender-Expansive Revolutionary Resources & Services is dedicated to delivering quality, robust and consistent direct services to the transgender, intersex and gender-expansive communities in the Twin Cities. By fostering an effective and accountable intergenerational community, we work to create safe spaces and resources for all TIGERs: Transgender, Intersex, Gender-Expansive Revolutionaries to connect, empower, process and grow together on our journeys of liberation.
We’re a local group of dedicated, capable and accomplished trans and intersex activists with 50+ years of combined experience in direct service programming and a wide, complex range of genders, sexes, sexualities, abilities, socioeconomic and geographic backgrounds and racial identities. Of our leadership team, 3/7 identify as POC, 2/7 intersex, all trans and some variation of nonbinary and non-heterosexual, 5/7 physically disabled, 6/7 neurodivergent and 2/7 AMAB. We believe that organizations should represent the communities they serve, and we plan to continue to diversify our leadership, facilitator and volunteer base across all axes of identity as we grow.
Since the COVID pandemic hit we had to put much of our regular programming on hold. But we have been able to continue our Teen TIGERs group on-line to provide support, care-packages, activities and community for at least 15 youth a week. We recently starting up our intergenerational, inclusive and accessible community events again with the Mondo Queer Beach Party: COVID Safer Edition in July. We've also used this time to work on our intersex education presentation for healthcare providers that, with support we hope to roll out soon. And finally, as soon as vaccines are approved for folks under 12 we will restart our Little TIGERs group for the young gender fabulous folks.
