Hi Friends -

You already know how much I love working for Constellation.  We're coming up on one of my favorite times of the year, when I see the buses pull up outside the Waldron and watch as wave after wave of excited schoolchildren climb the steps to the Auditorium, almost bursting with anticipation of what they're going to see on stage.  Every once in a while, I'll sneak into the back row to sit through a performance for the second or third time, just for the opportunity to watch the kids watch the show.

Do you remember the first time you went on a school field trip that opened you up and suddenly made your world seem bigger? Last year Constellation made that moment possible for almost 3000 area schoolchildren.  I'm incredibly proud of all the ways Constellation enriches our community, but our school matinee program - made possible through deeply discounted ticket prices - is the thing that makes my heart fill up.

I believe so strongly in Constellation's mission that I am once again willing to make a complete fool of myself in our annual Playoffs fundraiser, when my team will compete against others to write, rehearse and film a short play in just a couple days.  Because this is my third year doing it, I know for a certainty that regardless of the strength of the rest of my team I will look like an idiot.  Nevertheless, I hope my participation might inspire you to also support Constellation with a Playoffs donation, whether because of your fondness for theater, or your fondness for field trips, or your fondness for me: a fool in love with school matinees.
