Forward Together to Human Rights!

Being alive right now means bearing witness to a world unraveling. We're witnessing ecosystems breaking down, mis-information and profits soaring, and the vast majority of humanity suffering. And there is so much worth saving, so much worth working for, and so much to be done. 

One of the rocks I have clung to through the storm is the VT Workers' Center - a poor people's campaign and a group of people that have helped me to understand the importance of building relationships and organizing each other to make the change we need to see in the world, from the bottom up. 

This summer, I'm asking friends and family to donate to the VT Workers' Center to support the critical work happening here. While our corner of the world is small, we are connected to a much broader movement, and not much has changed since MLK started the Poor People's Campaign in 1968:

“We as a nation must undergo a radical revolution of values. We must rapidly begin the shift from a “thing‐oriented” society to a “person‐oriented” society…

True compassion is more than flinging a coin to a beggar; it is not haphazard and superficial. It comes to see that an edifice which produces beggars needs restructuring. A true revolution of values will soon look uneasily on the glaring contrast of poverty and wealth…A nation that continues year after year to spend more money on military defense than on programs of social uplift is approaching spiritual death.” - Rev.
