Do you know someone with cancer?

This week Darlene and I are celebrating our 28th anniversary.  Believe it or not, one of the first things that drew us together was cancer.  My mother had just been diagnosed with terminal cancer and  Darlene was working as a cancer researcher and been researching cancer since high school! 

Now, all these years later, we share a dedication to the Women's Cancer Resource Center which offers FREE support services to ALL women with cancer--any kind of cancer,  high or low  income level, with or without insurance.  

I hope you will help us support these women by joining us in making a donation to the Center today. 

Why  today?   Today is important for each of us.    So can you imagine what today is like for a woman diagnosed with cancer in the middle of the Pandemic?  Or the woman who is told that her treatment has been suspended because of the national health crisis? At the  Women’s Cancer Resource Center we are serving remotely to support women and their families through these uncertain times as they go through their cancer journeys.

You will be supporting targeted outreach to  African-American Women, to Lesbians and other queer people, to Latinx and to the rest of us who can receive empathetic and respectful cancer support at WCRC.  Darlene and I have been behind all these special outreach efforts as Darlene has served on the Board of Directors for almost 20 years.  We have helped make safe and powerful space. As one woman said, “At WCRC you can be your authentic being and get the help you need when faced with cancer.” 

YOUR GIFT TODAY will help WCRC meet the needs of these community members. Many of WCRC's clients are already under-served, isolated and immuno-compromised. COVID-19 is putting them at greater risk than ever -- medically, socially and economically.  

From now through midnight on Give OUT Day, June 30, WCRC has set a goal to raise at least $25,000 to fund the FREE services we provide every day of the year, so that no one who comes to us will have to face cancer alone. Your donation of $25 or more will support community-based navigation, health and wellness classes, psychotherapy and more, ensuring that WCRC's clients receive the tools they to face their cancer journey.
