My Girl Scout Gold Award Project is to create four benches representing the major branches of the military -- Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines. The benches will be installed at the American Legion Post 138.
The location of the benches will be near the water so that those that served our country and their guests will be able to enjoy the view of nature on the bay.
I am trying to raise $5,000. The money will go to cover the cost of the construction materials for the benches as well as military medallions and engravings to be embedded in the benches. With my project, I want to encourage patriotism in the community and provide a place where those who served can relax, reminisce and bond with new friends.
