GFNF4kids is creating a Child Advocacy Center (CAC) to provide all the resources needed for maltreated children in one location. The CAC will serve children from St. Lucie, Martin, Indian River and Okeechobee counties. Currently a child coming into care due to abuse or neglect may visit up to 8 locations while telling their story. The CAC will help reduce the trauma by providing all resources in one location - everything from the initial forensic interview , their physical exam , mental health resources, and more - all in a child friendly location. Imagine how the CAC will help children begin to heal more quickly and place their lives on a much more positive trajectory. We are working in collaboration with all the major Stakeholders in all four counties, more than 25 agencies, to make this happen quickly. GFNF4kids has raised just under $500,000 since January toward the project and working to raise another $615,000 to complete build out and first year's expenses. We have already received hundreds of thousands of $$ of in-kind services from individuals and companies invested and passionate about this need for maltreated children. Tambone Companies,, Architect Peter W. Jones, Remnant Construction and Jeremiah Baron & Company to name just a few. GFNF4 kids has secured a 10 year lease beginning in February 2021 with interior build out beginning then as well. We hope to be serving children at the CAC by Summer 2021. PLEASE HELP US HELP THE KIDS! All donations large or small are sincerely appreciated and will take us that much closer to bringing this to fruition quickly.
