For the past 20+ years, I've been driving 180 miles nearly every month to Angola Prison in Louisiana to visited people incarcerated inside, mostly those waiting on death row as their Spiritual Advisor. On Oct 23-25, I'll be biking those 180 miles with NOLA to Angola to raise funds for those without a car to visit the people they care about and love. Will you join me in this effort? 100% of funds raised will go to the Cornerstone Builders’ Bus Project to pay for vans, gas, and drivers to go from New Orleans and Shreveport to prisons around the state so children, spouses, families, and others can visit incarcerated loved ones.
NOLA to Angola is an annual solidarity bicycle ride fundraiser that supports the efforts of organizations working to mitigate and reverse the impacts of the U.S. prison system. Biking each mile in solidarity with families who travel long distances to connect with their incarcerated loved ones, the ride educates people about the ways in which mass incarceration works in tandem with other systems of oppression, such as poverty and white supremacy, to harm members of our communities.
