Dear Friends,
Since I was very young, public broadcasting wasn’t just on in our house — it was part of how I learned. As an only child, I spent early mornings with shows like Sesame Street, Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, and The Electric Company. My mother and I would watch together, learn together — reciting the alphabet, exploring stories about difference, kindness, fairness. Those aren’t small things when you're growing up. They shaped my belief that television is more than entertainment: it’s education, connection, and a place where fairness and truth should matter.
I’ve been part of the KET family since 1997. Over those years I’ve seen what a difference “objective, fair people delivering information” can make. In times like these, when facts, voices, stories can get lost in the noise — KET stands as a trustworthy anchor. That’s why I’m raising funds now: because public media isn’t a luxury — it’s essential. It helps us understand one another, hold institutions accountable, and ensure the people of Kentucky have access to the reliable information, culture, and education we need and deserve.
With your help, KET can continue to do that work: presenting diverse voices, shining light on hard truths, keeping our communities informed. I believe in that mission deeply — and I hope you’ll join me in making sure it thrives.
Thank you for your support.
