Alexis's Accreta Awareness Virtual 5K Fundraiser

There was nothing typical about my son's birth in 2012. I had placenta accreta where the placenta grew through the uterine wall which caused significant blood loss during a multi-hour surgery to save my life. I share my story openly in hopes it will raise awareness of this awful, life-threatening disease. I want future moms to be aware that developing accreta increases with each c-section and uterine surgery. I want families impacted by accreta to know they are not alone in this journey. I want all eligible blood donors to know that blood is needed for moms like me during childbirth.
