Haiti and Cambodia Kids One 17 Challenge

Friends, I am privileged to work in children's ministry. I have a heart that beats for kids all over the world. I've had the opportunity to provide needed funds to  amazing kids in Haiti and Cambodia through an amazing Christian nonprofit called One 17 International (http://one17international.org).  

I passionately believe in One 17's mission based on Isaiah 1:17, "Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow." The story behind One 17 International is inspirational when you consider how a young college student going on a trip to Haiti, seeing the great needs of so many kids,   answered God's call to do something about it! 

We are all called to do something about it. 

Will you join me and walk/run a mile barefoot (if you can) with me to raise needed funds? There are two awesome ways to participate: 

1. You can donate to my fundraising goal of $1,117. Thank you so much !
2. You can join my team by participating in the challenge with me. I am looking for 10 people to walk/run a mile (barefoot, if you can) between August 21-29 and raise $117 each. If you want to do the mile along with me, I'd love that and will set it up. I am so excited to be able to include you in the important fundraiser to help kids in Haiti and Cambodia. Let me know!

Proceeds from this event will help us to further the mission in two ways: tuition and staffing. 50% of the funds raised from the Challenge will be used to cover the cost of tuition for our students in Haiti and Cambodia (books, supplies, uniforms, medical care, international staffing, and more). The other 50% of the proceeds will be used to hire a Director of Operations for our organization. This is a critical role that will help to ensure that we are providing the best care to our staff and students as we continue to grow deeper and wider in Haiti and Cambodia.
