This year for my birthday I'm asking each of you to think about people like Amin featured above. He was torn from his workplace - put in the back of a van - and taken to a concentration camp for queer people in Chechnya. Because of Rainbow Railroad, he's alive today to tell the story. Few survivors of the purge there can publicly be out - but Rainbow Railroad has moved over 70 people from Chechnya - and over 900 others from other places where they face violence.
Rainbow Railroad serves to assist LGBTQI people facing imminent danger and persecution all over the world. Alone in 2020 they have received 2,256 requests!
Will you help me ensure at least one of those precious LGBTQI people survives?
It costs (on average) $10,000 to move someone like Amin to a country in Europe or Canada where they can lead a life without fear of persecution.
Thank you for your support. To learn more about Amin and his story, click here.
You can learn more about Chechnya by seeing the recently released documentary (on HBO), Welcome to Chechnya at HBO.com/WelcometoChechnya or see more individuals they help featured on Canada's Drag Race (see story here).
