Hello and thank you for checking out my page!
From a young age I knew my gender identity was complex matter. I was assigned female at birth (AFAB) yet growing up I always felt something was off.
As I grew older I realized gender is more than just the binary we are taught, it is an expression of who we are and it's part of a beautiful spectrum. It's time we legally recognize that.
IGRP’s mission is to create legal recognition of people whose sex and/or gender identity are non-binary by engaging in direct legal services, impact litigation, legislation, collaboration, and education.
We work in collaboration with local activists and organizations to enable government agencies to provide nonbinary gender options for identity documents.
IGRP has been instrumental in making nonbinary ID an option in over 20 states, provided free legal services to dozens of trans and/or intersex individuals, lead a research project to understand the lived experience of nonbinary and intersex individuals, and filed an amicus brief in a federal appeals court on behalf of an intersex person who was denied a US passport.
See https://www.intersexrecognition.org/projects for details on our work.
We work on a shoestring budget and could use assistance with daily operating costs such as our PO Box, website, and staff expenses.
