Trap, Neuter, Return Las Vegas

We are a volunteer organization which believes we can eliminate the senseless euthanasia of feral and free-roaming cats which live in the Las Vegas valley by implementing trap, neuter, return, (TNR) programs.  

Here in Las Vegas, approximately 300,000 kittens will be born in the spring to feral cats . Only 50% of the kittens will survive to eight weeks old and over 90% will not survive to be a year old. The ones who do survive will struggle to live and continue to have litters of kittens which are born to die. 

C5 has been providing TNR support to the Las Vegas area for over 11 years.  When C5 started in 2009, over 18,500 healthy feral/stray cats were admitted at the local shelterand euthanized.  At the end of 2018, just over 1,300 feral and stray cats  were euthanized. This is a direct result of TNR.  Once feral cats are TNR'd , the males do not fight for territory, food or sex.  Females are less stressed and not having kittens 2-3 times a year.  

Funds raised during A Community Thrives will allow C5 to continue to make a significant difference in the community. The colonies of cats are trapped by our volunteers. They are then sterilized and vaccinated to prevent more kittens and disease, then returned to their colony. The colony caretaker continues to provide food, water, and care for the cats.

We have a passion and belief in a cause which is making a significant difference in the community, for the cats and the colony caretakers.
