The Belgrade Community Action Association is excited to nominate Bennett Jarman as one of the 2019 Classic Man nominees. Bennett is a great candidate because of his love and commitment to Family and Community,
Bennett was raised in a house filled with musical talent. His mother, Alex Gardner, sparked his love of gospel music through her own extraordinary musical gifts. He grew up attending Oakey Grove Missionary Baptist Church, singing in the choir, while his mother sang and played piano. His ability and upbringing steered him in his passion for Gospel Music. He began singing with the Trenton All Stars, was later a member of The Glory Divine Singers and is now a member of the Temple Singers. He also plays the drums for two area churches, but has played for several churches over the years.
Bennett is very involved with and committed to the youth in his community. He has participated as a volunteer for Jones County Recreation Dept. for approximately 20 years, coaching soccer, baseball, t-ball and basketball. He coached football and basketball for Jones Middle School as well.
Lastly, Bennett serves as a volunteer with Trenton Emergency Services and is also the “medic” for Jones Senior High School football and basketball teams.
Bennett is a loving son to Alex Faye Gardner and Joseph White, a caring husband to Carlean Jarman and a proud father and grandfather.
