On May 6th, 2023 I will be running in the 2013 Indy Mini 500 Festival 5k in support of Indiana Lyme Connect, and to raise awareness for Lyme Disease.  My wife Kaylabeth has been struggling with chronic Lyme Disease for nearly the last 20 years!  She is the strongest woman I know!  Here is a little bit of our story.

In the Fall of 2013 my wife Kaylabeth and I were married.   In 2014, after battling debilitating symptoms for 8 plus years, Kaylabeth was diagnosed with Lyme disease.  These symptoms include chronic widespread  pain, excruciating migraines, frequent sleepless nights, brain fog, intense fatigue, nausea, and that is just the beginning.  When she received the diagnosis, at first were were thrilled to know the cause of all of the pain she was in, and that there was a path to healing.  Slowly we realized that this path was going to a be long, uphill journey.  Almost four years after her diagnosis, and many treatments, therapy's, and protocols later, Kaylabeth is continuing to fight this battle without much improvement yet holding out hope for complete healing.  This is fairly typical for Lyme, as it is often called the great imitator, making it incredibly difficult to treat, in addition to the confections it brings along with it.  We have been fortunate enough to see three amazing Lyme doctors who have helped us walk through this journey.  

This is the mission of Indiana Lyme Connect; to educate the medical community, and residents of Indiana on the implications, and complexities of Lyme disease, in hopes of easing this heavy burden on those affected by Lyme
