"Smart Response started in 2007 after Hurricane Katrina, the non-profit Disaster Accountability Project saves lives and reduces suffering after disasters by maximizing the impact of preparedness, response and relief through citizen oversight and engagement, policy research and advocacy, and public education."
We always wonder if our donations to charitable institutions reaches the people we want to help. Sometimes we would hear stories that people affected by the disasters are not getting the relief they need. We see on the news families are crying of hunger, thirst and no shelter to go to. My heart goes to these people!
So, when Ben Smilowitz, the Executive Director from SmartResponse asked for any help to keep the organization going in any possible way...donations or volunteering, my colleagues and I have committed to help by raising funds.
My colleagues from Barclays will be participating on the NYC 5K run on December 1st. If you want more information about Disaster Accountability Project, please click on the link below.
