Join me and the rest of the Global Action Project community to uplift trans/GNC youth voices!
Trans Resistance Through Media (TRTM) is one of Global Action Project's (GAP) leading youth media programs. TRTM builds the capacities of trans and gender nonconforming (TGNC) youth -- particularly Black and Brown TGNC youth -- to create and distribute media that forefronts their perspectives and lifts up TGNC youth activism to address how school push-outs, race- and gender-profiling, barriers to accessing healthcare, homelessness and employment discrimination combine to create disproportionate risk for incarceration and other forms of marginalization.
The goal of TRTM is to strengthen TGNC youth’s leadership and skills to represent themselves, share their perspectives on the issues that affect them, and amplify the organizing and advocacy that TGNC communities are engaged in to create positive social change.
For nearly 30 years, GAP has supported the young people most affected by injustice to create their own narratives towards liberation. TRTM represents those stories of resistance, resilience, and collective futures.
