Eytan GF - Supporting People Impacted by Addiction

Hi, welcome to my MightyCause page!

My name is Eytan Goldhaber-Fiebert, and I am a board member of the Jewish Teen Foundation (JTF). We are a group of high schoolers who are passionate about helping people and giving back to our communities. During JTF’s process, we decide on a population to serve, educate ourselves through extensive research, conduct interviews with experts and members of the population, and raise awareness and money to support the population. At the end of the year, we give all the money we raised to carefully vetted and mission-aligned organizations. Personally, JTF is meaningful because it enables me to give back to my community and provides me with important practical skills such as research and fundraising.

Together, we carefully crafted the following mission statement: The Jewish Teen Foundation South Board is committed to supporting those affected by substance addiction through organizations/initiatives that provide education and rehabilitation services to create and sustain positive change for individuals and families.

Through my research, I was surprised to discover:

- 17% of Americans have a substance use disorder (Source: USDHHS)

- Just 1 in 10 individuals with a substance use disorder receives treatment (Source: SAMHSA)

- 92% of overdose deaths in 2021 were preventable (Source: NSC)

Together, we can create meaningful change. Every dollar we raise goes directly to non-profit organizations that help people impacted by addiction and their families. Our board's goal is to raise $50,000. Personally, I aim to raise $5,000 coming from at least 25 donors, including $100 of my own money, because I truly believe that every person deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential. It would mean the world to me, my board members, and people impacted by addiction if you would donate as well. Any contribution is more than helpful, donors over dollars. Every donation will go directly towards powerful non-profit organizations that our board members have thoroughly researched and reviewed.
