Huck Shaughnessy - Sophomore

One reason I like rowing because it is the purest form of a team sport. Each rower must synchronize with their boat mates, becoming one boat, rather than 8 rowers in one boat. Another reason I like rowing is because it is a form of therapy. When you get on the erg, or in a shell, you set aside all of the worries that the day brought, and instead focus on each stroke. Finally, I like rowing because of the community. From the other rowers, to the coaches, everyone is just as hard set on your success as much as you are, which gives you a strong foundation to grow both as a rower and as a person.
