Tooey + Rachelle's Fundraiser

Hello and Welcome! We are Tooey and Rachelle.                                   Thanks for visiting our Hoofbeats in the Vineyard Fundraising Page.

Tooey is our gentle giant, resident jokester, and Patriarch of the Barn. He is a registered Mustang and has been with Equi-Ed for 15+ years. Tooey became vision impaired last year and was retired from the riding lesson program. Tooey inspired us to create the Retirement and Special Needs Horse Care Fund which launched on Giving Tuesday 2020. All funds donated to this special program go towards the care of our horses, including any special health circumstances that may arise, and ensuring the top-notch attention and treatment. Tooey continues to live out the rest of his days with us, receiving the best retirement care and LOTS of love and pampering from our entire team of staff and volunteers. 

Rachelle has been volunteering with Equi-Ed since early 2017, starting with barn chores on Friday mornings, moving into assisting with student lessons, and eventually joined the Board of Directors in 2020. She was originally drawn back to the barn because of her love of horses and fond memories of riding when she was a child. Little did she know how impactful joining this team would be. "I will never forget the very first student I met and how he shared that no other treatment or exercise provided the movement and mobility that being on a horse did. He found such relief after his lessons and I knew in my heart that Equi-Ed was really something special!" It is incredible to witness the change in a student during their lesson and I find it inspiring to see the bond between horse, student, instructor and volunteer.
