Jenn practicing with a chemo port. Thank you!

Update posted 5 years ago

Last night at the event celebration, Joann mentioned a video of Jenn doing her daily practice with a chemo port.  It's a beautiful demonstration of how cancer can be debilitating and challenging but yoga can provide the necessary control, strength and comfort. Your contribution will enable more cancer survivors to find that tool and resource.  So we are grateful to your donation!   We wanted to be sure to share with all of you.

Thank you.

This Second Annual event honoring Jenn and encouraging her light to shine forward through the work of yoga4cancer and other yoga teachers.  The yoga weekend will be Nov. 10-11 at The Yoga Barn in Stowe.  The weekend consists of the following:

  • 5 donation classes
  • Saturday evening celebration
  • Loads of prizes and love!

All proceeds will go fund yoga4cancer programs in Vermont including teacher training scholarships for yoga teachers and health care professionals, cancer survivors class and distribution of key resources and tools. Jenn’s family, the yoga4cancer team, Well Heeled and The Yoga Barn invite your donations in an effort to create a difference in the lives of cancer patients and survivors everywhere.  This special weekend while you do yoga, you will also be giving back yoga!

Any donation (more than $40) enables you to attend a yoga class and the Saturday evening celebration.  Please just be sure to let us know what class you plan on attending.  Please email us at theyogabarnstowe@gmail.com.

About Jenn Morey

Jenn Morey was passionate about yoga. It was on her yoga mat where she found the balance, well-being, and peace that would carry her through times of joy and challenge.  As cancer began to win her four-year battle, Jenn did headstands on beaches and backbends on mountains holding on before passing April 8, 2017.

Yoga was her lifeline. Jenn was a Vermonter, a nurse, a massage therapist at Topnotch, a yoga teacher at the Swimming Hole, and a yoga4cancer trained professional. It is through yoga that Jenn’s friends and family hope that  #jennshineson.

yoga4cancer and The Retreat Project

What began as one woman’s quest to find renewal and peace while surviving cancer has evolved into a specialized yoga4cancer (y4c) methodology.  This evidence-based y4c methodology inspires confidence, and encourages survivors to be active in reaching their goal of wellness for a longer, happier and healthier life. y4c integrates classic yoga and current scientific research and is tailored to each survivor’s emotional and physical challenges. Yoga as part of a holistic approach can help create healthier lives for all by reducing the risk of cancer and helping survivors manage treatment side effects. 'Cancer steals your breath. Yoga gives it back.' –  Tari Prinster

The Retreat Project is a nationally registered 501©3 organization. It exists as the non-profit branch of yoga4cancer, solely to fund scholarships, classes and retreats to serve cancer patients and survivors everywhere.
