We strongly believe that every individual with a disability deserves a chance to reach their fullest potential, which includes being afforded the opportunity to work and contribute within their community. That’s why Ricky is participating in Georgia Gives on Giving Tuesday in partnership with Tommy Nobis Center (“TNC”), a nonprofit organization that empowers individuals with disabilities through employment.
Families within our network told us about a program offered by the TNC called “EYES” (Early Youth Employment Services) that provides employment skills to high school students during summer camp and school breaks. Ricky attended the program during the summer of 2020 and was hooked. He also enjoys meeting up with his TNC friends during social activities offered through the monthly ConNect program. TNC’s newest offering is The Academy. Ricky started his twelve month Accelerated Vocational Training Program on November 1. He will be educated via curriculum-based vocational training, trained during a three-month internship that will include on-site and community-based instruction and receive six months of specialized employment support to ensure success in a career of his choice. And the Academy guarantees 100% employment placement for all graduates! We think this is the most exciting part - that Ricky will be employed in a job he wants to do!!!
So Ricky wants each of you to click on the blue DONATE button “right now-wa”! Even though you have until November 28th to make a tax-deductible donation, why put it off. Do it now. No amount is too small (or too large) to help change lives today.
Thank you so much for helping us support Tommy Nobis Center for Ricky and all the other individuals with special needs that want to become independent.
