I have always known envrinomental education. My first memories are of the outdoors and learning. She made sure that I was learning outside early. She helped me get my first job teaching at a nature center at the age of thirteen, and I am still teaching about the environment and how to understand and preserve it.

I Believe in Environmental Education
I believe that people learn better outdoors.
I believe that every landscape is filled with math, science, history, literature, art, and soul.
I believe that students should be allowed to run and play in the woods and splash in the streams.
I believe that ten breathes of fresh air will improve your spirit – especially on the bad days.
I believe that each drop of water is a part of the past and future.
I believe that swimming in a river is better.
I believe that the land is borrowed fro the future.
I believe that those who cling to fossil fuels are willfully ignoring that the sun has provided all the energy in the past and future.
I believe that everything is connected.
I believe the fibers of those connections are a part of our souls.
I believe that those who you are disconnected from the outdoors cannot be truly happy.
I believe that we should foster and encourage connections with the outdoors for others.
I believe that each of us is responsible for the earth connections in ourselves and should help make them in others.
I believe that this list could be endless and uplifting or to brief and dull – that choice is mine.
I believe that your list will be endless and uplifting if you connect with the outdoors.
Thank you for listening.
Thank you for giving.
