We're supporting Theatre of the Oppressed NYC (TONYC), an organization that partners with communities facing discrimination to spark concrete, creative change. As a Catalyst, I’m asking 10 (or more!) friends to donate $10 (or more!) from now through March 17th, to make TONYC’s Legislative Theatre Festival free for all New Yorkers.

Watch this video to see why this year we’re calling TONYC “Injustice-Busters”!

TONYC troupes create original plays based on actors’ lived experiences. At our annual Legislative Theatre Festival, audience members - or “spect-actors” - act out creative solutions to challenge systems of oppression, and together we develop policy ideas and vote on them.

City Council members and other public officials in the theatre carry those policy ideas forward into action. Through Legislative Theatre, thousands of New Yorkers have engaged in civic action and influenced the policies that affect them every day. Now, more than ever, it’s time to show our elected officials that the people run the government.

Check out TONYC’s work here.

If you prefer not to give online, you can also send a check in the mail to: Theatre of the Oppressed NYC, 68 Jay Street, Suite 220, Brooklyn, NY 11201.

See you in action! As part of this campaign I invite you, my supporters, to join TONYC at the festival and WATCH, ACT, VOTE for change.
