Marist College is joining forces with Hudson River Housing to call attention to the issue of youth homelessness.

The 2nd Annual Sleep Out is an overnight event for Marist students and faculty designed to simulate homelessness. Sleep Out 2018 will take place Friday, November 2nd as a way to mark Homelessness Awareness Month, commemorated each November as the impending winter season approaches.

Sleep Out participants will gather, hear a talk about homelessness from Hudson River Housing representatives, and spend the night outside.

You can participate in this effort by making a donation! All proceeds support Hudson River Housing's programs for homeless youth.

Every day, youth come to Hudson River Housing seeking help.  Often dealing with family disputes, bullying, or abuse, we offer safe housing, guidance and counseling, including River Haven Shelter, a twenty-four hour crisis center and 12-bed shelter for youth ages 10-17, and the River Haven Transitional Living Community, a supervised transitional housing program for youth up to age 21 in need of safe housing. Services are available 24-hours a day, 365 days a year, and we will do whatever it takes to make sure that any youth who comes to us in need of assistance is made to feel safe and welcome.
