The Ohio Bird Sanctuary is located on ninety acres of variable habitat including forest, marsh, and stream beds. This habitat provides homes to over fifty-two species of nesting birds and a diverse variety of plant and animal species. We take immense pride in the beauty of our trails and the accessibility we have created. The Sanctuary is a place where all individuals, regardless of age or ability, can spend time in the outdoors and engage with nature.

This summer, we hosted weekend programs in our one-of-a-kind classroom in the trees that is accessible to strollers and wheelchairs. This unique space provides an opportunity to learn about nature by immersing oneself in the treetops. No better way to learn about birds and their environment than being in the trees!

Annually, 35,000 visitors enjoy the Ohio Bird Sanctuary. Families enjoy encounters with our Avian Ambassadors, children explore and play in the Nature Scape, and picnic tables provide a place to gather.

Our trail system provides opportunities to hike, bird, and explore. The trails wind through mature forests, pine groves, meadows, and the marsh of the headwaters of the Clear Fork River. This a favorite spot for birders to observe nesting species and those moving through during migration.

A gift to this campaign will support our efforts to manage our trails, boardwalks, Treehouse-Classroom, and nature preserve.
