Having the opportunity to represent Israel in lacrosse on an international level has been one of the best things to happen to me.. While playing lacrosse has always been something I am passionate about, playing for Israel has given me so much more than another opportunity to continue the game that I love. Playing for Israel has allowed me to find a home away from home, incredible friends, and an opportunity to grow the game. I have never felt so much pride then when I had the opportunity to represent Israel in the World Cup in 2017, wear the blue and white Israel uniform, and sign the Hatikvah loud and proud with my teammates while looking up at the Israeli flag.
I grew up in a reformed Jewish family and celebrated the major holidays in our religion. However, it was not until I went on my birthright that I felt a true connection to Judaism and Israel. I did not know I could become attached to a country so quickly, but I instantly felt at home, that I was safe and surrounded by so many people like me. After my first visit, I knew I would need as many opportunities as possible to return to Israel. I have returned many times over the past couple years to coach and play lacrosse. I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to make Aliyah, which has even further strengthened my love for Israel and Judaism.
