What is camp casco?

  • Camp Casco is a home away from home for childhood cancer patients and survivors.
  • It's a place where kids experience the magic of summer camp, with the support and guidance of their outstanding caregivers, and the constant supervision of their professional medical team. The Camp Casco family consists of kids at different stages of their experience with childhood cancer - varying widely from kids on active treatment to those who have been off-treatment for several years.
  • Each summer, they offer one week of sleep-away summer camp to kids ages 7-17 in Becket, Massachusetts. This year, they're excited to add a second week of summer camp: their brand-new Camp Casco Day Camp Experience in partnership with LINX Camps in Wellesley, MA, for kids ages 5-10.

Testimonials!

  • “Camp Casco is my daughter's happy place. There, one can expect their child to experience a place of intense positivity and personal growth. After camp this summer, [my daughter] has grown tremendously since her cancer diagnosis by challenging her body and soul with the support of the amazing councilors. [She] also gained a sense of peace and acceptance within herself. She achieved this emotionally by participating in Circle Time, sharing her thoughts and feelings (normally something very difficult for her), and physically by challenging herself to try new things while honoring her body when it was time to take a break. Not only do the councilors at Camp Casco communicate these breakthroughs with us throughout the week, but they also celebrate them with the children." - Camp Casco Parent, 2017
  • “Camp Casco is a wonderful retreat for children to escape the harsh realities of what they have been through. Camp provides them with the chance to connect with other cancer survivors who share similar experiences. Some of [my son’s] most precious friendships are with other children who had or have cancer. Cancer survivors have a special bond, and programs, such as Camp Casco, are essential to cultivate these exceptional connections."- Camp Casco Parent, 2017
