Approximately 20 percent of youth ages 13 to 18 experience mental health challenges, but far too often stigma and discrimination are barriers to people talking about care or accessing care.
Youth In Mind aims to empower youth and young adults 12-28 to lead community discussions around mental health so that as a community we can make changes to systems to better support people with mental health struggles. Through our programs youth are provided with leadership opportunities through developing conference for youth, young adults, adults, service providers and speaking about the challenges and the opportunities to decision-makers.
Through our charity partnership with Oakland Running Festival, we will raise funds to ensure that the voices of youth and young adults impacted by mental health are supported to make positive changes in communities throughout California.
