Hi friends and family,

I am a volunteer for my local Habitat chapter as a Partner Advocate meaning that I help support a Partner (AKA future homeowner) throughout their Habitat journey from first signing initial paperwork through all the training, volunteer hours, closing, and owning their home for the first few years. I am so LUCKY to be partnered with Jasmine (pictured), an amazing, hardworking mom to two adorable boys. She will be a first-time homebuyer with Habitat. She works full-time for a local insurance company AND is going to graduate next month with her Bachelor's!! I am so lucky that Habitat has brought us together as I know for a fact she is a great friend for life already! Her positive attitude is infectious!

For those who are unaware, Habitat does NOT give houses away. Partners not only have to contribute a few hundred hours of sweat equity (i.e. volunteering), but they also have to qualify for and hold a mortgage for the home! Jasmine has exceeded ALL goals & deadlines to-date, volunteering at EVERY possible opportunity. She has over 200 hours of volunteer hours already!!

Soaring lumber prices and construction costs are making it very difficult for organizations like Habitat. They do NOT pass on the costs to the homeowner so that means they need to fundraise more. This is why I am putting together this campaign.


I would be remiss to also not mention my Dad loved Habitat!

Did you know that Fauquier Habitat recently purchased many homes on Haiti Street in Warrenton to fix up? Imagine yourself living in a house with your spouse and four kids, with three of them under the age of 2. During the winter, you're family is freezing, gathering as many blankets and sweaters as you can because the heat doesn't work. You have to corral your little ones away from certain parts of your home because there are gaping holes in the floor. And even worse, this is the second time your cell phone has broken while charging because of faulty electrical wiring, and you're worried that your kids are going to get electrocuted. No parent should have to worry about the safety of their kids in their own home. That's why Fauquier Habitat has committed to partnering with up to 20 individuals and families on home repair projects this year. Through our critical home repair program, families work alongside our volunteers to ensure they can remain safely in their homes. 


In celebration of our 30th year, join us in our campaign to raise $100,000 dollars for our home repair program. Your generosity will ensure families, seniors and veterans can remain safely in their homes through critical home repairs, home preservation and aging in place. 


In addition to our critical home repair, home preservation and aging in place programs, families can partner with us for an affordable mortgage on a Habitat home through our homeownership program. By partnering with Habitat to achieve affordable homeownership, families can transform their lives.
