United Cambodian Community (UCC) is a nonprofit community-based organization that advocates and promotes the wellbeing and advancement of the Cambodian community. For over 43 years, UCC has served the greater Long Beach area by providing health equity, community integration, youth enrichment, and economic inclusion. In the year, UCC serves over 7, 000 community members.
Health Equity Program
COVID-19 Relief and Economic Recovery
During the pandemic, UCC has given over $102,000 in financial assistance directly to low-income Cambodian families and small businesses. The immediate needs UCC is focused on are COVID-19 Outreach, Education, and Vaccine Assistance. UCC has assisted over 500 community members in receiving the vaccine.
Older Adult Health and Food Security
Providing weekly care calls and coordinating health services to Cambodian older adults that are isolated. UCC has connected 150 Cambodian older adults to fresh groceries and mental health resources. UCC provided $17,850 of food vouchers to a Cambodian grocery store for 450 community members.
Community Integration
Housing Counseling and Rental Assistance: Providing housing counseling on financial stability, rental rights, and fair housing. Distributing rental and utilities assistance funds to low-income families below 100% Federal Poverty Level.
Economic Inclusion
Business Counseling and Small Business Microgrants: UCC distributed over 24,000 in microgrants to 48 small businesses.
Youth Enrichment
Youth Mental Health: Connecting youth to mental health and workforce development training.
