HORSE HEROES NEEDED!

Grandma, Honey, and Pony were rescued from Melba, Idaho. These mustangs were starving and in bad shape. They have all made tremendous strides since arriving at IHR.

Grandma is 29 years young. She is losing her site, but that doesn't seem to slow her down! The black mark across her nose is from the halter that was put on her prior to rescue being left on so long that it dug into her face, leaving a permanent scar. Pony is her best pasture mate and acts as her guide. Grandma is available for adoption, but due to her age, she must be adopted as a pair with Pony.

Pony looks remarkably better since coming to IHR! She is a beautiful little mustang.  While we can approach her and do some ground work, she would benefit greatly from more training. Without daily training, the horses have a severely diminished chance of finding their forever home.

Honey has made tremendous progress since coming to IHR. When she arrived, she was extremely fearful as she had been beaten regularly by her previous owner. While she is still cautious, she can be approached if you are patient and calm. Honey would also benefit greatly from more training. Without daily training, the horses have a severely diminished chance of finding their forever home.

This #GivingTuesday, you can be Grandma, Pony, and Honey's #HorseHero by donating to their care.

Here is how your donation will help Grandma, Pony, and Honey:

  • $10 = one round of de-wormer treatment for one horse (given twice a year)
  • $25 = one bag of supplemental feed
  • $50 = hoof trimming for one horse (done every 6-8 weeks)
  • $150 = one ton of hay
  • $500-$1,000 = one month of training for one horse

Every donation makes a critical difference for these horses, no matter how big or how small.

You can also help Grandma, Ponym and Honey in lieu of donation by simply sharing this page for them. Sharing their story is just as important as donating!
