Shahin's Solidarity Sleepout for Shalom

I've volunteered with the Shalom Community Center for over a year and have seen firsthand the incredible work the organization does to alleviate poverty in the Bloomington community. The net proceeds from the event will support Shalom's overnight shelter, Friend's Place, the only nonreligious, year-round emergency shelter for homeless adults in the region. Friend's Place is a sober shelter for Monroe County residents, providing hope and support as people find their way back home. Combined with Shalom's housing and employment assistance, Friend's Place has become one of the most successful shelters in Indiana. On Friday, April 26th, I’m sleeping outside so others won’t have to. Shalom’s Friend’s Place shelter is so important for people in Monroe County.
