The St. Charles County Veterans Museum was a dream of World War II Army Veteran, Ralph Barrale who worked tirelessly to increase veteran recognition throughout St. Charles County.  Ralph is responsible for renaming the south outer road along Highway 70 to Veterans Memorial Parkway.  In addition, he was a driving force behind the 364 bridge being named Veterans Memorial Bridge.  Ralph also had a dream to create a museum where local veterans’ artifacts and stories could come out of the cardboard box in the basement and be shared with everyone.  Unfortunately, Ralph passed away just before the keys to the museum space in O’Fallon were made available.

Ralph’s friends and family kept his dream going and the museum opened in the spring of 2019.  Despite the many contributions from local supporters, the museum’s checkbook balance on the day of opening was just over $900.  The museum is operated by a small group consisting of all volunteers.  Donations are needed to keep the dream going.

The Vision Leadership St. Charles County Class of 2020 would like to help keep Ralph’s dream going and growing.  We are looking for your support to help us raise funds to keep our local veterans’ stories and memories alive.  As Ralph used to say, “No one is really gone as long as we have memories of him.”  Please help us reach our goal of raising $5,000 for the St. Charles County Veterans Museum.
