Hello Friends,
We have had such an exciting year at Girls Rock NC! This summer 307 girls, trans youth, and nonbinary youth participated in our summer camp where they formed 68 bands and were supported by more than 110 volunteers. That is quite an accomplishment for just 5 weeks of camp!
We’re also thrilled that we have continued to grow our financial assistance program to make camp and after school a possibility for everyone in our community. This summer, more than 1 in 4 youth participants received some kind of financial assistance and more than 1 in 10 attended our programs free of charge.
But that’s not all! In 2019, we also had our most successful Rock Roulette adult program and fundraiser ever, expanded our after school program, and offered a brand new intersession camp in the fall.
That’s all the good news. The bad news is that we’re facing a critical fundraising shortage. We are $10,000 short of our goal for 2019.
