Dylan Teitelbaum - Team Israel

I have been so proud to bring something I love, the game of lacrosse, to the people of my homeland. Connecting my past with my present and future in the place I now call home. Every year at our family’s Pesach cedar we would say “next year in the Holy land.” This, as my first year actually being here, has been a surreal feeling for me and I’m excited to represent ישראל with pride. 

My personal connection to Israel truly reigned in after my Taglit trip in 2017. I hadn’t felt like I was visiting somewhere foreign, but felt like I was right at home. After I returned to New York from that trip I knew then and there that I would return once I finished school. I moved here in October and by the time December came around I had made aliyah and truly started to feel at home. Being here has brought me closer not only to my homeland, but also to a whole new side of family I hadn’t met before. Celebrating holidays with my family has truly opened my eyes to the importance of the sense of togetherness in the Jewish culture.
