Let’s show our teachers how much we appreciate them by fulfilling their classroom wish lists! GAgives Day connects Georgians with nonprofits for the largest day of giving in our state. We are calling on all Counterpane families to show your support by making a gift to our teachers’ classrooms for GAgives Day on December 1.

Everyone’s lives changed in March when we went into quarantine to slow the spread of COVID-19. Our teachers rose to the occasion; they immediately pivoted their curriculum, working through their spring break to apply Montessori principles to online school for the fourth quarter of the school year. From navigating technology issues to finding novel ways to engage children through a computer screen, our teachers went above and beyond to keep our children on track.

Our teachers then worked through their shortened summer break to allow us to open our doors early this school year. And on top of preparing an in-person curriculum, they created a virtual curriculum to share with those students who needed to shelter at home this year. Our teachers’ dedication to their students is unparalleled, and we are so grateful for them.

In addition to the teachers on our campus, Counterpane supports Head Start Pre-K teachers and students in Puerto Rico through the Souns program. These teachers have Souns cards sets on their classroom wish lists, allowing the children to have the proper materials at home so the teachers can give the Souns lessons virtually. Ultimately, whether virtual or in-person, the Souns program prepares these young children for reading. (Find out more about the Souns program at souns.org.)

We are asking every one of our families to participate in GAgives Day this year by gifting an item on our teachers’ classroom wish lists which are listed on counterpane.org/gagives-day or making a donation to Counterpane by December 1.

As always, we are thankful for your unwavering support. And with your gift, we can show our teachers how much their hard work has meant to all of our families.
