Heart of the Work~ Aff FIVE Awardee: Baddie Brooks

Baddie Brooks, Miss Trans Michigan 2025, is a trailblazer, artist, and advocate whose grassroots approach to philanthropy is reshaping what giving back looks like. A proud Black transgender woman and fierce community leader, Baddie uses her voice, her story, and her platform to uplift others and fight for equity. Her journey, from growing up in a non-affirming environment to becoming a powerful public figure, has inspired people across the state, including the staff at Affirmations.

Baddie has chosen Affirmations as one of the core organizations she supports, raising funds and awareness in creative, community-centered ways. From organizing a community open mic night in August to rallying friends, fans, and chosen family, she brings joy, authenticity, and visibility to LGBTQ+ philanthropy. In November, she will go on to compete in the Miss Trans USA pageant, bringing national attention to her advocacy and the communities she represents with such pride.

In honor of her creative fundraising, deep community connections, and tireless efforts to support LGBTQ+ spaces like Affirmations, we are proud to present Baddie Brooks with this year’s Michigan LGBTQ+ Philanthropy Award.
