Solidarity Sleepout for Shalom Community Center

As of January 2019, Indiana had an estimated 5,471 experiencing homelessness on any given day, as reported by Continuums of Care to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Of that total, 544 were family households, 572 were Veterans, 258 were unaccompanied young adults (aged 18-24), and 366 were individuals experiencing chronic homelessness.   Public school data reported to the U.S. Department of Education during the 2017-2018 school year shows that an estimated 18,625 public school students experienced homelessness over the course of the year. Of that total, 255 students were unsheltered, 2,453 were in shelters, 1,507 were in hotels/motels, and 14,410 were doubled up.  You can help, you can make a difference, consider joining our team and raise awareness and funds by sleeping out OR consider donating whatever you can, right now!  Thank you- Nate & Adrienne
