Stepping out in faith....breaking ground
With offline donations that don't show here, we are up to over $6,500 and getting closer to our goal. We are stepping out in faith and the excavator will be on site digging the hole for the septic tank, and grading the site in preparation for the pouring of the slab. In just two weeks from today the walls will go up. There is still time to be part of blessing this young couple working at this children's home a little south of Ensenada, Baja California Mexico.
Calvary Chapel Punta Banda, a bilingual fellowship located a little south of Ensenada, Baja California, is raising funds to build a comfortable secure home for a couple working with an orphanage in the area. Selene and Francisco are a soon to be married young couple. Selene is a joyful young lady that has lived in children homes for the last 7 years. Since Selene was 8 months old, her life was affected by her parents' drug addiction problems. She spent most of her childhood from house to house being cared by different relatives and neighbors. At the age of 13, due to the instability of her family situation, she came to the orphanage called Casa Hogar Niños de Jesus, which for her was the greatest blessing of her life. Here she met the true love of Jesus and the love of a family. She has been dedicated to serving at the home for a couple years now, taking care of the young children and cooking a lot of delicious food. Her soon-to-be husband, Francisco, is a young man who serves at the church almost full time. They will be getting married on August 14th. They will continue to work at Casa Hogar Niños de Jesus, and have been offered a space next to the children's home for a home to start their married life and continue their life of service to the children. A stable home will mean so much to this young couple. With so little stability in the past in their lives, a permanent home is a dream come true. Construction will begin the first week of August using volunteers from the church, from the local community, and from a church group from California. The goal is to get this couple into the house after their marriage on August 14. The house will include 2 bedrooms, a common room (or sala), and a bathroom. Any additional funds raised will be used to further bless this young couple and make their life a little easier so they can focus on serving God by serving the needs of the children.
