Join the revolution happening now! Homeless Children’s Network is proud to lead the revolution in Black mental health through our Ma’at Program in San Francisco.
Ma’at uses a whole-person approach to provide Afri-centric, culturally responsive, heartfelt behavioral health wellness care. We address head on the historical legacy of intergenerational racism, inequity, and trauma. Our vision is to support Black/African American children, youth and families to passionately and unconditionally affirm Blackness.
The groundbreaking Ma'at Program pairs Black therapists with Black children and families in San Francisco.
Ma’at speaks to the truth that for young people, and all Black families, the past is no indication of what the future holds. Our families learn to accept the best and expect the best from themselves, their peers, and their community.
In addition to direct mental health services, the program includes case management to help families achieve milestones in areas such as housing stability, health care, job readiness, education, and meeting basic needs.
With your help, we’re able to serve Black families in San Francisco who are in dire need of mental health and wellness services in this moment of heightened stress and trauma.
