We are asking for a strategic boost to set us up for 2024 and mission-critical famine relief!

$40,000 goal

This #GivingTuesday, we're aiming to raise $40,000! This is different than our normal fundraising efforts - this is a mission-critical juncture for TCI and we need a strategic boost to operate at full capacity (and more) in 2024!

In August 2022, we "adopted" over 5,000 individuals (5 villages) hit by a severe famine in Eastern Uganda. The famine was devastating for the hard-to-reach area. The government wasn't spending any money to help them. Almost no one visited them to provide aid. One of the Ugandan aides (and TCI partner) described the situation this way:

"Children are stunted and being crippled by malnutrition. The situation at household is haunting. Children need nutrients to meet their growth and development needs, the environment cannot provide. The parents have lost hope.

The people though weak, can be seen in TCIs sustainable effort doing faith gardens on the knees and grand mothers in the dust waiting for the time to die.

We always observe joy and great hope when TCI send food. You are surely providing for these helpless needy and impoverished starving souls. We have 500 families that house 5000 individuals who need your prayers to live.

Thanks for the continued support to keep 5000 people alive. Over the past one year you have done a great job to keep these children alive and grand mothers able to see tomorrow. You have given these people hope of Christ.

We need food for these children to continue living. Otherwise they are risking going back into the 2022 acute starvation. You have fathered these souls, your Generosity has created a huge difference in these lives.
God bless you."

Every month, together, we provide $20,000 worth of food for these individuals (on top of medical care). This is keeping them alive and away from the edge of the famine. You have helped us step in and "adopt" these 5 entire villages that were abandoned and literally left to die.

It's mission-critical for this work (and much more) to continue into 2024! And so we are asking for a strategic boost into the upcoming year.

Would you help us raise $40,000 this #GivingTuesday?

If you're wondering why this is mission-critical:

  • Over 75% of our resources are supporting the people of Karamoja.
  • Less than 1% is spent on any US administrative or IT costs.
  • We're also engaged with building schools, teaching farming, child sponsorships, and much more!
  • We need a strategic boost to keep all of our work across Uganda going strong. Would you help us?

Lastly, the theme for our team this week is THANKFULNESS! We all are overwhelmed by the giving hearts that have stood beside us in this mission! Even as you donate, please know that we are grateful and amazed – for every name and notification we see, and for all those who have helped this far!

About TCI & the Famine Relief

Currently, Transformed Communities International (TCI), a 501(c)(3) organization, is working in rural Uganda to bring immediate famine relief and create long-term transformation to the agricultural needs in the Moroto, Karamoja area of Eastern Uganda, which until recently was experiencing starvation and death amongst 5,000 persons. They are building out wells and farms and need your help.

Efforts have been underway to bring sustainable agriculture to a drought-stricken area that historically has been used for raising cattle while at the same time supplying needed food. These efforts are referred to as the “Moroto Project.” As a small organization with an entirely volunteer staff, TCI needs additional resources to carry out this mission.
