This past August, 2023, the Center School, located across from Atkinson Academy was placed on the New Hampshire Register of Historic Places. The Center School is Atkinson's last remaining One Room Schoolhouse. The school was open from 1880 to 1948. The Atkinson Historical Society is raising funds to renovate the building and turn it into a Museum for folks to visit and enjoy.
